"Backlash" is an Agility skill available in Dying Light.
Overview
The Backlash is an ability which allows to player to use throwing weapons and UV flashlights will while looking over their shoulder. This typically happens when the player is running which means it is mostly useful when dealing with fast enemies. As such, it is usually the go-to skill for surviving Volatile chases and sometimes dealing with Virals. Due to how its use mostly relies on the use of Throwing Weapons, specific tactics will be discussed below.

Tactics
- Multi-Throw is fully usable due to how the player can constantly look behind themselves.
- Firecrackers can be used during Volatiles chases, allowing players to bunch up up swarms whenever they need to though combining it with does mean that its usage won't be as accurate.
- Said bunched up enemies means they will be vulnerable to explosives, fluids, Molotovs, Flares, and other throwing weapons with an area-of-effect.
- Due to the nature of looking behind ones shoulder, it does make aiming much more difficult, meaning that aimed throwing weapons such as Throwing stars will be less efficient without Multi-Throw.
- This skill isn't very useful against charging Demolishers as almost nothing can stop a Demolisher's charge and it is best to simply avoid them.
- Night Walkers can be blinded by the UV Flashlight meaning that this skill can also be used when chased by them, decently useful in certain Volatile Nests.
Trivia
- This is the only skill that affects the looking back function.
